The number of foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia for December reached 1.11 million, a rise of 12.85 percent.

Total foreign visitor arrivals for the year reached 11.52 million, a 10.7 percent increase on 2015.

Bali’s Ngurah Rai airport was the most popular tourist arrival location in 2016 with 4,852,634, a 23 percent rise on 2015. Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta airport was second with 2,416,060 arrivals.

Indonesia’s hotel room occupancy rate in December was 56.5 percent, down from 57.25 percent in December 2015.

Indonesia wants to attract 20 million foreign visitors a year by 2019.
