
Indonesia's August Tourist Arrivals Jump 16 Percent October 3, 2016
The number of foreign visitors to Indonesia rose 16.1 percent in August to 944,455. The total for the January to August period was 6,585,553, a 16.1 percent jump from the same period of 2015, Statistics Indonesia reported. Bali’s Denpasar airport was the most popular tourist arrival location with 437,929, up 46.6 percent from the prior year period. Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta airport was second with 270,496, up 6.95 percent. Indonesia’s hotel room occupancy rate in August was 55.2 percent, with Bali again top of the table on 72.4 percent. Indonesia wants to attract 20 million foreign visitors a year by 2019. |
